Taylor Doan — Making Authentic Connections
Taylor Doan, associate director of housing clinicians, oversees a team of eight behavioral health and medical clinicians who work with tenants.
“I started working at Pine Street in 2020 after I earned my Masters of Social Work,” Taylor says. “My goal is to help improve people’s lives — whether through stabilization services, behavioral health care or advocating for tenants. Working with this population can be challenging at times, but I love it.”
When the housing clinician team is fully staffed, 10 clinicians, including several “mobile” clinicians, will cover various housing locations. “The clinical team works to help people successfully move back into the community. We do risk assessments and provide support for substance use disorder, as well as for behavioral health and medical care. For older residents, we coordinate higher levels of care, such as nursing homes.”
Taylor continues, “If you make authentic connections with people, you’re going to get more out of the experience and so are they. That’s where beautiful relationships can form.”
