Our Programs


Housing

Since 1984, Pine Street Inn has developed permanent, supportive housing for homeless individuals and families with on-site support staff. Pine Street currently houses nearly 500 tenants in 28 residences throughout greater Boston.

Shelter

Since its founding in 1969, Pine Street Inn has been a place of refuge to Boston’s homeless residents. Today, emergency shelter remains one of Pine Street’s core services.  Seven hundred men and women come to Pine Street for shelter each night.

Job training

Each year, morethan 150 men and women graduate from Pine Street’s job training and job readiness programs. Participants learn both the vocational skills and the attitudinal skills needed to find and maintain employment.

Street Outreach

Day and Night, Outreach workers offer clothing, food, blankets, health care and human contact to the most vulnerable sector of the homeless population: those who—often struggling with mental illness and addiction—shun shelter life. The team works to build trust with these men and women.

Advocacy

Pine Street Inn also works at a policy level focusing on legislation that will help bring positive change to the lives of homeless men and women.
