Homeless men & women need your help — call Gov. Patrick today
October 2009
Pine Street Inn receives significant funding from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for programs and services
that assist homeless individuals. As you may know, the state’s revenue is
far below expectation, and Massachusetts
is facing a $600 million shortfall.
Because of this very significant gap, Governor Patrick will be
forced to make cuts to the budget, known as “emergency 9C cuts.” Affected
budget areas include housing and human services, and Pine Street Inn falls into
that category.
Until now, the Governor and
Legislature have maintained funding for programs for homeless individuals, and
it would be devastating to thousands of people if these areas were cut. Please help us communicate that
crucial message to the Governor today.
Call Governor Patrick’s office at 617.725.4005 and leave a message asking that he does not cut funding to
homeless shelters and housing programs for low-income individuals. These calls make a difference.
Many thanks in advance for your support.
